The International Academy for the Study of the Jurisprudence of the Family (IASJF) is pleased to announce that it will hold its seventeenth international Symposium on “Intergenerational rules, rights, and obligations: inheritance, gifts, and assistance within the family” on Wednesday and Thursday, June 24-25, 2026. The Symposium will be hosted by the Department of Legal Sciences of the University of Verona, Via C. Montanari 9, Verona, Italy (https://www.dsg.univr.it). Focusing on inheritance, gifts, and intra-family assistance, the Symposium aims at examining the legal, social, and ethical frameworks that shape intergenerational exchanges. The objective is to illustrate the ways in which family structures and their regulatory frameworks can foster fair and effective solidarity between generations, especially in a society characterized by increasingly smaller, less stable, and more fragmented family units, within a rapidly aging demographic context.
